Our History
For over 62 years, Benson Pools has built long-lasting, quality pools in the Ottawa area for both residential and commercial clients alike. From the Prime Minister’s home on Sussex, to various NHL players homes and many City of Ottawa structures in between, Benson Pools has a history of quality work and dependability you can rely on.
Jeff Benson
Owner – New Builds and Major Renovations
I’m the guy in charge of most things here (though maybe not as many as I think). I have been involved in this family business for ‘way more years than I care to think about. Through all that time I have seen a lot of excellent craftsmanship, skill, knowledge and pride in workmanship. And managed to remember most of it. But, I’ve also seen what doesn’t work and had a few “epic fails” - hard lessons that keep me centered but stir my desire to take on new & difficult challenges.
Shyrissa Smardon
Office Manager / Bookkeeper
Shy is awesome! She keeps us on our toes while keeping the office running smoothly and possesses a strong track record of performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments. Her interpersonal skills are excellent as is her communication ability. She carries out a ton of administrative duties, engages with clients in a truly friendly manner and looks after the day-to-day bookkeeping for the business. She sends the bills, collects the money and does payroll – so we love her, especially on payday.
Perry Hart
Commercial Sales Manager / Lifeguarding
A sales professional, Perry enjoys over 15 years of involvement in the pool industry. Customer service is high on his list of the things he takes very seriously and Perry is always willing to go the extra mile to help commercial pools stay properly supplied and trouble free. Perry does the purchasing for Benson Pools and has many sources for all our pool supplies, ensuring that our products are top of the line and our pricing is competitive. We run a summer Lifeguard service for multiple pools around the City and Perry’s team looks after ensuring a safe and fun summer for our commercial pool clientele.
Fraser Veitch
Residential & Commercial Service Manager – Pool Openings / Closings / Maintenance
Fraser has seen been with Benson pools for many years and has gained a ton of knowledge in that time. He is taking over scheduling of the service crews from Frank and will handle your phone calls and e-mails. He eats technology for breakfast so if you have any automation or salt systems issues he is our go-to-guy. We’ve all seen him figure out programming, sub-menus and different ways he tweaks and “massages” systems into cooperating. When it comes to weird and wonderful pool and spa parts he can (almost without fail) locate that strange item for you.
