Salt Water Pools - Ottawa Sewer Use Bylaw prohibits pumping salt water to the storm sewer system (street). You may pump it onto your own property or to a direct connection lo the sanitary sewer in your home. In any case, Benson Pools will NOT pump out salted water at all. It is the owner's responsibility to lower pool water 2" below the lowest return fitting(s) before we come to winterize the pool system and install your cover.

We do not service above ground pools.

Lower pool water and drain equipment; blow out complete system; add 4 L of non toxic anti-freeze and install protection device in skimmer; remove deck equipment, and install your tarp style cover & water bags.

Drain pump, filter, heater; blow out/plug skimmer and return lines; add 4 L non-toxic anti-freeze in skimmer, install Gizzmo or other skimmer protection device.

Lower Water Discount

Chlorine Pools Only

Customers who lower their own water, will receive an $85 discount off their final bill.

Salt Water Pools Only: OWNER MUST LOWER THEIR OWN WATER

Owner must lower their own water 1” below the return lines BEFORE we arrive to close the pool. If the water has not been lowered to the appropriate depth, we are not permitted to close the pool and there will be an $80 surcharge billed separately.

Additional Winterizing Options

ADDITIONAL WINTERIZING OPTIONS

Winterizing plugs, skimmer protection devices, water bags and other parts are not included in the winterizing price. If these are unavailable, we will supply them and bill accordingly. If you have these items, please leave them near the filter. Travel time and mileage charges apply to all out of town customers.

We try our best to accommodate your pool winterizing in the requested time frame, but work is scheduled in the order received. As soon as the order form is returned to us, we will assign you a time into our service schedule.

After November 15th, there will be a 50% surcharge for winterizing any pool.
